How we clean a basin
A catch basin gives stormwater somewhere to go. Anything sitting in it, leaves, trash, sediment, is taking up the room the next storm needs.

The storm calendar
A basin cleaned on schedule is empty when the storm comes.
- Fall. Leaves fill basins in weeks. Cleared in October, they work in November.
- Late summer. Storm season. A full basin and two inches of rain is a flooded lot.
- Winter. Melting snow needs somewhere to go. Frozen slush in a blocked basin doesn't drain.
- All year. Municipal routes and portfolio lots run on standing schedules, basin by basin.

How often should catch basins be cleaned?
Once a year covers most lots. Heavy tree cover or a debris-prone site runs shorter. Municipal routes run on their own standing schedules.
What comes out of a basin?
Leaves, trash, sediment, and silt. It leaves in the truck and is disposed of properly, with the job documented.
My lot floods in heavy rain. Is it the basins?
Usually the basin or its outlet line. We open it, clear both, and tell you which it was.
